Frank Hanna-Bernabe is a dedicated advocate for affordable housing with over 10 years of experience in the affordable housing industry, where he has led the rehabilitation of the San Diego Housing Commission’s impressive portfolio of 4,115 affordable housing units across 160 properties in the City of San Diego. His expertise in affordable housing development and rehabilitation has provided him with valuable insights into collaborative solutions involving developers, financial institutions, and local governments. In addition to his work in the affordable housing sector, Frank has also contributed to the Defense industry in San Diego, where he served as a project manager working with various engineering teams at General Atomics Aeronautical Systems. His background in project management within the Defense industry has honed his skills in collaborating with diverse teams and stakeholders. Frank holds a B.S. in City and Regional Planning with a minor in Sustainable Environments from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from San Diego State University. With his diverse skill set, education, and experience, Frank is eager to empower low-income and system-impacted students in achieving their educational goals and breaking down barriers to higher education through his role on Wesley House’s board of directors.
